A Journey Through the Chrysalis:

A Path of Self Discovery And Healing

February 10th 2024 was my first solo exhibition titled a ‘A Journey Through the Chrysalis’. Hosted by Caba Creatives in Asbury Park, New Jersey.

Featuring work from the past 5 years of a journey I was committed to taking but unknowingly telling a story through each painting. As my art is a vehicle I use to examine and better myself, I have let my unconscious drive each idea until my body feels we have come to a destination. Each painting is a series of visions or downloads delivered at times when I am in need of dissecting issues in my life.

Each session is a meditation journey, sometimes leading to 6 hours of expressing fears and emotions through color and gesture and having a piece to the puzzle of ‘why is this happening?’ or ‘what should i be learning’. My soul releases waves of energy and when numerous sessions have come to complete the painting, i can step back and reflect on what has changed in me and how i can grow further.

Each painting signifies great ‘ah-ha’ moments ..each detail had a reason to come into being.

To share my work with the public has been a wonderful experience. I am used to opening up to the world of social media about each work as the downloads come in, but to view everything together at once was a new experience. I am not shy speaking about my journey because I believe it is necessary to be open and vulnerable to connect with the collective consciousness around you. This betters you, me and the world as the ripple effect of self discovery and healing gives way to a new horizon of possibilities.
